Do you want your email address to be safe?

7 Tips for safe Email usage:
Use multiple Email addresses- Do not use a single email address for professional and personal and public purposes. Create one email that can be solely used for personal and professional use and provide the address only for genuine and personal communication purposes.  Create a secondary email address that you can provide for public purposes like e-shopping, bill payment, and promotional emails.  In such cases, even if any of your business associate company happens to falls prey to hackers, your private correspondence remains secure and un-accessed. Today, most of the Internet Service Providers allow you to have multiple email addresses.
Be cautious about email attachments- It is recommended that it’s better not to open attachments or click on links from unknown senders. Viruses and malicious files trespass easily through such email attachments.
Do not email confidential and private data- Avoid emailing your passwords, bank account information, and social security number or even birth details. Such records are never asked for via email by reputed companies.
Never provide credit card data through email- At times you are left with no other option than to send your credit card data, like credit card number, expiration date, and security code through email. In such cases use a separate unused email address without displaying the actual sending information in the subject line of the email. Use a subject line that do not give any hint about the mail content but is understandable by the recipient.
While group emailing use Bcc (Blind carbon copy)- To maintain the privacy of your contacts involved in group emailing, use the option of Bcc field to put the group of contacts you need to send the email to and in the “To” field add your own email address. Every recipient would only be able to see their email address and no other addresses of the group members.
Look before you leap i.e., think before you give your email address- Think wisely before you give into promotional messages and allow sending materials at your email Id. It is advised that you should never say yes to messages saying, “Would you like to receive offers from our valued partners?”
Don’t forward chain emails- Avoid sending chain mails at it gives in to hackers and malicious intruders to play with numerous email addresses present in the chain mail which again might not be purely genuine in content.
